The Los Angeles Rams essentially knocked out all future draft picks in search of winning a Super Bowl ring at present.
Jalen Ramsey apparently thinks they should continue punting.
The Rams cornerback took to Twitter Monday to recruit Julio Jones after the future Hall of Fame said UndisputedIt was Shannon Sharpe that he wanted to leave Atlanta.
The Rams haven’t made a first-round pick since 2016 and don’t have their next first-round pick until 2024. While they do own their second-round pick and have two third-round picks in 2022, trading for Jones would be a big deal. decision that essentially puts all the pressure to win next season.
Rams currently have $ 7.2 million of cap space, so they should open up some wiggle room by restructuring existing contracts or freeing up veteran talent. A restructuring for Matthew Stafford would make sense, but it would also tie him to the organization deeper in his 30s before he even took a snap as Aries.
The Rams also seem unlikely to make a receiver-level investment with Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods already in the fold. While Jones would be a dynamic downline threat to Stafford, the Kupp-Woods duo are more than strong enough for the Rams to compete for a Super Bowl.
Atlanta is apparently at a stalemate in an attempt to trade Jones, with rumors swirling through the offseason without action. However, his admission to Sharpe may move things forward for the Falcons to agree to a deal, whether or not they think it’s compensation strong enough.
