Auburn’s 2020-21 women’s basketball season has not been easy for Tiger fans anywhere on the map. Without a win in the SEC and losing in double digits to Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Belmont in double digits, Lady Tigers suffered the worst season of the Coach Flo era on the Plains.
The 5-19 season proved to be the last for head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy, who was fired after nine seasons at Auburn. While several Tiger teams performed admirably under Williams-Flournoy, his teams made it to the NCAA tournament in 2016, 2017, and 2019 – three of the past four seasons lost one to Auburn.
Not all is pessimistic in the 334, however. Earlier today, Unique Thompson declared herself for the WNBA Draft, signaling the end of her women’s basketball career at Auburn while proclaiming the continuation of his hoops career at the professional level.

Of course, as always, the Auburn family gave her their support:
Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you do on the next level. War eagle, always!

Eagle of war! We will miss you.

Thompson ended his Auburn career in an incredible way in 2020-21, ending the SEC tournament loss with a double-double, which was the 58th of his tenure with the Tigers. She also broke the school’s rebound record in February with her 1,156th career table.
Now she’s taking her game to the pro level, where she could be the ninth Auburn basketball player selected in WNBA draft history.
It was a unique career, and a unique career that it will continue to be for the legendary lady of Theodore, Alabama.
